Unraveling Isobel by Eileen Cook

Unraveling Isobel
Author: Eileen Cook
Published: January 3rd, 2012
Publisher: Simon Pulse

Goodreads Summary: "Thrilling and creepy, super sexy, and so very hilarious." --Lisa McMann, bestselling author of the Wake trilogy

Isobel’s life is falling apart. Her mom just married some guy she met on the internet only three months before, and is moving them to his sprawling, gothic mansion off the coast of nowhere. Goodbye, best friend. Goodbye, social life. Hello, icky new stepfather, crunchy granola town, and unbelievably good-looking, officially off-limits stepbrother.
But on her first night in her new home, Isobel starts to fear that it isn’t only her life that’s unraveling—her sanity might be giving way too. Because either Isobel is losing her mind, just like her artist father did before her, or she’s seeing ghosts. Either way, Isobel’s fast on her way to being the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons."

Concept/Ideas: 4/5
Storyline/Plot: 5/5
Characters: 4/5
Writing Style: 4.5/5

Unraveling Isobel was a suspenseful, fast-paced, and eerie read. It was so good.
Eileen Cook being more of a contemporary writer in my eyes, definitely explores the darker side to her writing in this one.

From page one, I was hooked.

The storyline was fast-paced and full of eerieness and suspense. You really come to wonder who in the book can be trusted, and what's going to happen next. It's one of those books that "keep you on your heels"!

The ending was intense, and I really liked how it turned out. The whole library and "Mandy" scenario (if you've read it, you know what i'm talking about!), definitely was something I did not see coming, and found that creepy and spooky.
