READ: MAY 2010
Book Title: Wicked
Author: Sara Shepard
Pages: 320
Published: November 2008
Publisher: HarperTeen
Series Number: Book five

Goodreads Summary:

"In idyllic Rosewood, Pennsylvania, four very pretty girls just can't help but be bad. . . .
Hanna will do anything to be Rosewood's queen bee. Spencer's digging up her family's secrets. Emily can't stop thinking about her new boyfriend. And Aria approves a little too strongly of her mom's taste in men.
Now that Ali's killer is finally behind bars, the girls think they're safe. But those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it. And they should know by now that I'm always watching. . . ."

My Review

Hm... what can I say about this book? This is definitely the take-off book of the series. After this one, everything flies.

New and old secrets, obviously.
But never, ever old.

In this one, the thrill and suspense get pretty epic. Well things seem safe for the girls, they are far from it. They believe that A's killer is behind bars. But of course, if you've read farther into the series, you know that it is FAR from over.

The girls are sadly mistaken when they start recieving text messages -- from A.
After this, it all starts up all over again.

I really can't say a whole lot of different things in this review, than any other, because they are all pretty similar, so it's very hard to come up with a unique and original review everytime around.

Love the girls, although Hanna and Spencer definitely get annoying. In my opinion, especially Hanna. Very snobby, annoying, and yet a part of the main reason this book happens. Sadly enough.

Unbelievable (Pretty Little Liars #4) by Sara Shepard

READ: APRIL 2010
Book Title: Unbelievable
Author: Sara Shepard
Pages: 352
Published: June 2008
Publisher: HarperTeen
Series Number: Book four

Goodreads Summary:

"Sometimes lies come back to bite you. In the case of four pretty little Pennsylvania liars, the chomp really hurts. For years, cuties Spencer, Aria, Hanna, and Emily have survived and thrived with nifty prevarications; now, in this series clincher, it's time for them to 'fess up-or pay the piper! Clever plot turns; great characters."

My Review

This one was good! Definitely better than Flawless and Perfect! As per usual, this one picks off where Perfect left off. This book really did get a lot better, and I remember this one really being the book that started to make things fly for me.

I can't say anything really, since it will give it all away! BUT TRUST ME, THIS BOOK IS GREAT. I can honestly say that this series never does get boring. Each book is unique, and it picks up new and old problems and secrets that will blow your mind with each one. There is NEVER a boring moment in the world of the pretty little liars. There is always something or someone getting avenged.

I believe that Emily is supposed to be the one on the cover of this one, am I correct?
I liked the green too, by the way!
*Squee*
THANK YOU SARA SHEPARD FOR YOU GREAT COVERS.

If you are considering this series, keep going! It only gets better after this one!

By the way, don't you just love the show's theme?
Very original, and very eerie!

Perfect (Pretty Little Liars #3) by Sara Shepard

READ: APRIL 2010
Book Title: Perfect
Author: Sara Shepard
Pages: 289
Published: September 2007
Publisher: HarperTeen
Series Number: Book three

Goodreads Summary:

"In a town where gossip thrives like the ivy that clings to its mansions, where mysteries lie behind manicured hedges and skeletons hide in every walk-in closet, four perfect-looking girls aren't nearly as perfect as they seem.
Three years ago, Spencer, Aria, Emily, Hanna, and their best friend Alison were the girls at Rosewood Day School. They clicked through the halls in their Miu Miu flats, tanned in their matching Pucci bikinis, and laughed behind their freshly manicured fingernails. They were the girls everyone loved but secretly hated—especially Alison.
So when Alison mysteriously vanished one night, Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hanna's grief was tinged with . . . relief. And when Alison's body was later discovered in her own backyard, the girls were forced to unearth some ugly memories of their old friend, too. Could there be more to Alison's death than anyone realizes?
Now someone named A, someone who seems to know everything, is pointing the finger at one of them for Ali's murder. As their secrets get darker and their scandals turn deadly, A is poised to ruin their perfect little lives forever. "

My Review

Here we go with the third book in the wonderful Pretty Little Liars series... This one was just like Flawless in my opinion. Good, but not as good as the first. This one continues on from Flawless, as we all know. A is still continuing to torture the girls, and things are not getting easier. The secrets begin the pile on, and the truth is coming out. Everything is crazy for the girls, not knowing who or what to believe.

The writing was good, and the storyline went along pretty well. I'm pretty sure I read Perfect in about 4 days, it was that good!

I'm not a huge fan of pink, but once again (as I will say for every one of the books), THE COVER IS GORGEOUS.

Flawless (Pretty Little Liars #2) by Sara Shepard

READ: APRIL 2010
Book Title: Flawless
Author: Sara Shepard
Pages: 330
Published: March 2007
Publisher: HarperTeen
Series Number: Book two

Goodreads Summary:

"Spencer stole her sister's boyfriend. Aria is brokenhearted over her English teacher. Emily likes her new friend Maya . . . as much more than a friend. Hanna's obsession with looking flawless is making her sick. And their most horrible secret yet is so scandalous that the truth would ruin them forever.
And why shouldn't I tell? They deserve to lose it all. With every crumpled note, wicked IM, and vindictive text message I send, I'll be taking these pretty little liars down. Trust me, I've got enough dirt to bury them alive."

My Review

Once again, I was not disappointed. This is the second book in the Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard. I read this one almost immediately after the first one. This one around the same time the first one ends.

This book was plain great. Not AS GOOD as the first, but stil definitely up there. The girls continue to search for answers as to who A is, and why they are getting these messages sent to them. The girls continue with their secrets, and A is ready to strike. With all of their secret's in A's hands, you never know what's going to happen.

I can't say a lot about this one without giving it away (or much of the series, for that matter), but this one was definitely a great continuation of the story.

As I said before, the cover is stunning. I love the bright colours and doll look of the books. Very creative, yet clever.

My Review

This book was one word. Amazing. When I read this book back in April of 2010, I was seriously asking myself "WHY DID I TAKE SO LONG TO READ THIS?".

I've had this book since 2008. It just sat and sat on my shelve, for two years, with no intentions of reading it anytime soon. Then last year, out of boredrom, I decided to give it a try.

As soon as I started reading, I was captivated. The storyline was so well written and it pulls you in right from the start. No, correction. Right from the synopsis.

The description itself makes you want to read it. Who wouldn't want to read a book filled with mystery (pretty hardcore mystery, if you ask me), love, and still with that chick-lit type feel to it? It's everything I could ask for in one.

The characters may seem glamorous, but they do have a lot of depth in them, and they are not your average snobby, rich girl like Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl... or Massie Block from The Clique. They have a perfect medium of everything all thrown in together, which I give Sara Shepard props for that.

Out of all of the characters, my favourite has to Emily. She seems the most real and down-to-earth of the four. Aria is good, Spencer is fine, but Hanna and Ali seem like total snobs. But what can you expect? Aside from that, I'm sure that each and every girl/boy can relate to them in some way. All of their problems and secrets seem to stem as unique and relatable.

The cover itself is very cool. I love love love the whole doll theme that they put on the front of the book. Not only that, the colours for the book are very eye-catching and pretty.

This overall, was the start to my favourite series. I have read up to the most recent one available right now, which is Twisted. From book one, I was hooked.

This book was a very quick read, and it will beg you to read it in one sitting. It's truly that hard to put down.
