Movie Review: Magic Mike

Movie Title: Magic Mike
Release Date: June 29th, 2012
Starring: Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer

No spoilers to a degree. Be warned.

Where do we start? Magic Mike takes you into the life of Mike Lane. Mike is a popular male stripper at Xquisite, a strip club in Tampa, Florida.

Adam is a slacker, and he moves to Tampa in order to live with his sister Brooke. While working at a construction job, he meets Mike. Mike takes him to the strip club where he works, and introduces him to the other dancers. He meets the owner of the club, Dallas, and is soon convinced to become apart of the group. He is nicknamed "The Kid".

Mike is introduced to Adam's sister Brooke, and an attraction slowly begins to grow.

As Adam is brought into the world of male dancing, he begins to  have a downworld spiral from experimenting and living the life. Things begin to spiral out of control, and Mike is forced to help ensure Adam is not harmed,  by paying a hefty amount of money to a group who Adam had not paid back.

Virtually, near the end, Mike decides his ultimate destiny of whether or not he wants to continue the life he is living.

----

This movie was a great one. I loved that it was raw, and real. They didn't cut out the constant swearing, making it really believable, and not your typical fake Hollywood sounding script. The actors talked in a way that you would believe they were just everyday people, which made the movie really good in my opinion.

The storyline was fast paced, and I enjoyed seeing how everything turned out in the end. This movie was suprising as well. I never expected the ending to end how it did. This movie also had some suspense, heartache, and that feeling of trying to find yourself in the midst of it all.

The music (and yes, the dancing) was entertaining. This movie had it's fair share of funny moments, and I would consider it comedy, drama.

Be warned, there is nudity (not so much in the stripclub, but in other scenes).

This movie is definitely reccommended. It was real, different, and definitely original.
